Members of the Patriotic Youth Movement (PYM), a volunteer group under the Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have embarked on various activities at Kisseiman market in the Okaikoi North constituency in Accra to garner votes and raise funds for the party.
Together with the NPP’s parliamentary nominee for the constituency, Mr. Fuseini Inusah, the group interacted with traders at the market on Friday July 29, 2016.
The traders expressed reservations about the cost of goods and services which they said was on the high side.
According to them, the rise in the prices of staple foods such as cassava and beans had also made cost of living very high. The traders also complained about high utility tariffs and high cost of basic education. Constituents in the area also expressed concerns about unemployment and what they described as a mismanaged economy.
PYM urged traders and constituents to vote for Mr. Inusah and the NPP’s presidential nominee, Nana Akufo-Addo, in the December 7 polls so that they could have some relief.
PYM donated aprons and distributed stickers to the constituents as part of efforts to support the campaign of Mr. Fuseini and the NPP. Mr. Fuseini expressed confidence that the constituents of Okaikoi North would vote for an NPP government at the polls.
