Parents told to control wards effectively

Awutu-Obrachire (C/R), April 28, GNA- A member of the Awutu-Obrachire Traditional Council, Nana George Ayiku Tetteh has asked parents to invest in the education of their children in other to prepare them for future leadership roles.

Nana Tetteh, who was addressing members of the Community Development Committee (CDC) said parents who preferred to spend huge sums of money on funerals at the detriment of the education of their children's education stands to lose at the end of the day because it would be very difficult for their children to care for them during their old age. Nana Tetteh said education is the best investment parents could make towards their own future and that of their children and should therefore not joke with it.

He said it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to provide their school-going children with all the necessary requirements that could help facilitate their studies.

Nana Tetteh suggested to leaders of various organized groups in the town to organize regular public fora to educate the people on child welfare and general well-being as a way of protecting the youth against joining bad companies to ruin their live.

They should also embark on periodic clean-up programmes to improve sanitary condition of the community.
