They told the GNA in interviews that the bad road was affecting economic and social life of the people in the area who are predominately farmers and fishermen. Opanyin Kofi Mensah, a farmer at Gomoa Dawurampong, said the few drivers still plying the road overloaded their vehicles due transportation difficulties. Ms Alberta Bruce, Gomoa West District Girl-Child Coordinator, also appealed to the government and district assemblies to take immediate steps to rehabilitate the road. She said teachers who commute from Agona Swedru to Gomoa Dawurampong, Gomoa, Ajumako, Enyemaim, Gomoa Denkyira and other towns got to school late as a result of bad road. Ms Bruce said if the situation continued it would have a negative impact on teaching and learning.
