Wa, Sept. 27, GNA - The people of Tampaalpaani in Wa have called on the government to support the community to establish an English/Arabic School to enable them give their children both Western and Islamic education.
They said it was important it was only appropriate they blended both Western and Religious education to prepare them adequately to become responsible adults in future.
"We will lose our culture and cause harm to our society if we allow our children to be highly educated while having loose moral values". Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Abdulai, Managing Director of Ramabus Enterprise, a fuel distribution outlet in the Wa Municipality, said this during the inauguration of a 630 capacity mosque that he built for the people at an estimated cost of about GH¢80,000.00. He said he felt so uncomfortable when he saw members of the Islamic faith in the community performing their daily prayers in all kinds of improvised structures.
Alhaji Abdulai said that kind of feeling motivated him to put up a descent mosque. The mosque also had room where children could have their Arabic lessons daily. Mr Yakubu Duogu, Wa Municipal Chief Executive, commended Alhaji and appealed to the people to use Islam to preach and propagate peace.
