Philanthropist gives to three needy institutions in Kumasi

Kumasi, Jan. 1, GNA - Mr Alexie Kwasi Fosu, a Kumasi based contractor and philanthropist on Sunday donated food items and cash totalling 20 million cedis to three orphanages in the Kumasi metropolis and the Afigya Sekyere District.

The beneficiary institutions were the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre in Kumasi, which had three packets of Anapuna biscuits, three packets of Juvita drinks, six bags of rice, six gallons of cooking oil and cash two million cedis.

Sisters of Charity Home at Mmrom in Kumasi, also received four packets of Juvita drinks, five packets of Anapuna biscuits, seven bags of rice, eight gallons of cooking oil and cash four million cedis, while the Denase Orphanage in the Afigya Sekyere District, received three packets of Juvita drinks, four packets of Anapuna biscuits, seven bags of rice, eight gallons of cooking oil and cash four million cedis. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency before the presentation, Mr Fosu, who is also the Managing Director of Prefos Limited, electrical and building contractors, said the donation was to assist the needy in society to also enjoy themselves especially during the Christmas festivities.

He said he had been assisting the needy for sometime now and expressed the hope that other people who had the means would also remember the less privileged. 01 Jan. 06
