Koforidua, March 29, GNA - Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Stephen Andoh-Kwofie, Eastern Regional Police Commander, has reminded policemen of the important role they were expected to play to assist the Government to realize its better Ghana Agenda. He therefore challenged the police to ensure "investor friendly environment" to attract more investors into the country.
DCOP Andoh- Kwofie, who was speaking at an end of year-get together in Koforidua for officers and men from the command at the weekend, tasked the personnel to work hard to ensure absolute peace in the country. He commended the police on their tireless efforts which made the regi on to record zero armed robbery cases last year. DCOP Andoh-Kwofie urged those who were promoted last year to justify the trust reposed in them by working extra hard.
Mr Baba Jamal, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, advised the police to guard against any negative act that would drag the reputation of the service in to the mud. "You need to protect the profession by behaving well and keeping to the rules".
Mr Jamal assured them that the government would do its best to ensure that the needed logistics were provided to enhance their work. He was happy about the cordial relationship that existed between the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and the police, which had enabled the region to enjoy absolute peace.
