Juaso (Ash), Jan. 20, GNA - Juaso police are yet to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of a 50-year old cocoa caretaker, who was reported missing on January 10, 2004 from Trainagya Farm on the Juaso stool land. Following a report made by his wife that Mr Kwasi Afful did not return to the cottage where they lived on the farm, Nana Owusu Akyeaw Prempeh II, Juasohene, in consultation with the police organised a search party of all able citizens for him dead or alive on January 12.
According to Nana Prempeh, after three days of fruitless search, the farm owner, Mr Kwasi Agyepong contacted a spiritualist at Obogu, who after consultation with his gods disclosed that Afful was not alive, and directed them to go to the Konongo portion of the forest reserve which shares boundary with Juaso forest reserve.
Nana Prempeh said on the fourth day, January 16, the search party extended their activities to Konongo forest and discovered the decomposed body in a thicket, with his cutlass pushed firmly in the soil near where he laid.
Afful was lying on his right side, with his hands raised as if he was being threatened.
A report was quickly made to the Juaso police, who came to the scene of the incident and after inspection, the body was sent to the police station.
Juaso police confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency and said they have started investigations into how Afful got missing from the cottage.
