Presec Old Boys commission Art Block project

Accra, July 2, GNA - Nii Amon Kotey, Assistant Headmaster of the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School at Legon, has called on past students associations to contribute meaningfully to the development of their former schools.

He made the call at the commissioning of the rehabilitated Visual Arts Centre of the School in Accra on Saturday. The 250-million-cedi project, which was undertaken by the 1978 Year Group of the school, was financed through voluntary contributions. The Assistant Headmaster thanked the Association for their gesture and expressed the hope that the building would serve the purpose it was built for.

Mr Kwasi Ampadu Kissi, President of the 1978 Year Group, said arts and craft played an important role in the lives of people. He said it signified beauty, creativity and "an appreciation for all that is pure".

Mr Kissi expressed the hope that it would go a long way in instilling creativity into the students to achieve honours for the school.

He gave the assurance that the Association would continue to support for the school. 02 Jul 06
