President Mills inaugurates classroom block at Abuakwa State College

Akyem Adukrom, June 3, GNA-President Mills has inaugurated a six unit classroom block for the Abuakwa State College at Kyebi in the east Akyem municipality.

The President also inspected some other ongoing projects in the school including a renovated boys' dormitory which was burnt down in January thi= s year. Addressing a durbar in his honour at the school park which was well attended by chiefs from the Akyem Abuakwa State, President Mills reiterated his government's commitment in ensuring that every community gets its fai= r share of the national cake. He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would continu= e to provide adequate facilities for all levels of educational system which forms part of his government's policy to ensure quality education. President Mills urged the people to support and rally behind the government to develop the country and eschew all tendencies likely to bring divisions and ethnocentrism.

Osabarima Adusei Peasah, Tafohene who represented the Okyehene, Osagyef= o Amoatia Ofori Panyin commended the President on his developmental agenda fo= r the country. He appealed to the President to help the newly established Agricultural University College at Bunso and provide them with infrastructure. The East Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Simon Asirifi said since the NDC government came into power 57 physical development projects ranging from education, water, market, and road constructions. He mentioned that 12 of the projects had been completed, some at the completion stages and others at initial stages. Mr Asirifi assured that the assembly would continue to initiate project= s in all the communities to open up the area.

The Headmaster of Abuakwa State College, Mr Nicholas Aninagyei Yeboah i= n an interview, thanked the President for the kind gesture and appealed for more facilities to enable the school admit more students.
