Prestea MP commissions ultra-modern 2-unit KG block at Petepom

Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency of the Western Region, Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyasi has commissioned an ultra-modern 2-unit KG classroom block with auxiliary facilities at Petepom near Bogoso

The new facility, which was sponsored by DACF with support from the MP, Lawyer Oteng-Gyasi is a 1 No. 2 Unit KG Classroom with the under listed facilities:

• Kitchen

• Dining Hall

• Staff Common Room

• Headmaster’s Office

• Mechanised borehole with overhead storage tank (poly tank)

• Water Closet Toilet facility for both staff and children

• Wash Room

• Fully furnished furniture, TLMS, White Marker Boards, etc.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held, Monday, January 14, 2019, Lawyer Oteng-Gyasi said: “the Bible admonishes us to teach the child in the way he/she should go, that he won’t depart from it when he/sh is old”.

She added, “As an MP, I will continue to support Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly to send more KG building to wherever it will be needed”.

Lawyer Oteng-Gyas who is also the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources said, the new facility will be hooked with free school feeding programme to continue to help the children remain in school and study.

She added that "government has introduced the double track as an interim measure to facilitate access to Secondary education”.

She thanked Nana Kwaku Appiah, Divisional Chief of Petepom for his unflinching support to the progress of the Municipality and appealed that the facility be protected and maintained for its to last long.

On his part, the MCE for the area, Hon. Mozart K. Owuh said, “when the President Akufo-Addo gave us an appointment, he told us (MMDCEs) to ensure quality education remains our priority, hence what you are seeing today is my commitment to the ideals of the President.

"This project, with funding from DACF and MP personal donations, has been completed within 6 months!", he added.

The MCE said, in 2019, three other communities, namely Dwaben, Yareyeya, and Bompieso are also going to benefit each from the same facility you have seen here, with sponsorship from the Municipal Assembly and the MP.

He was with many praises to the MP, and Chairman Abiam Kuntu Danso, NPP Prestea Huni-Valley Chairman for the support.

The Municipal Director of Education for Prestea Huni-Valley, Mrs. Vida Kwofie was so happy for the facility and said, “with this facilities, I don’t see how a child will won't be happy in school”.

She advised teachers to step up their performance to commensurate what is being provided them by the MCE and MP.

She thanked the MP for the Motorbikes (8) that was given to all CS of GES to work.

Nana Kwaku Appiah, through Chief Linquist, prayed that Nananom should bless Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi to “remain on the seat of MP for more than 20 years so that other communities will benefit from her good works. He also prayed for the MCE”.

Other Dignatories at the programme include Chairman Abiam Danso of NPP, Ms. Azumi Inusa, Alhaji Yusif Amuda, Francis Abeiku Yankah, Mr. Yaw Owusu who are all executives of NPP PHMA. Aso, Mr. Asante, Coordinating Director, PHMA, and staff of Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality and the general public
