Prestea MP donates to church, farmers and communities during tour

Despite tight schedules, Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources in charge of Mines, Prestea Huni-Valley MP, Hon. Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyasi has consistently made time to visit her people and made sure their needs remains her ultimate objective to fulfil.

Together with her MCE, Hon. Mozart K. Owuh, from Wednesday, 20th February to Saturday, 23rd February toured communities such as Subriso, Cocoa Shed, Pewodee all in Heman Electoral Area and Patase, Koduakrom, Domeabra, Asuohyia in Damang Electoral Area and Aboso.

In addition, they visited Bompieso Methodist Church to deliver a promise she made to the Church some months ago.

The following are the various donations made by the MP and MCE during the tour;

1. 200 bags of cement to the Methodist Church, Bompieso to support the construction of a new Church building.

2. An amount of GHc 10,000 to Bompieso Methodist Church to support the roofing of the Church after construction.

3. 50 bags of cement to Pewodee to support construct of Teacher's Quarters.

4 . Three Cocoa Spraying Machines to farmers of Patase and Pewodee.

5. Six Boxes of Confidor, and agrochemical were given to farmers in Cocoa Shed, Subriso and Koduakrom to support cocoa production.

6. An amount of Ghc 2,000 to support Methodist Synod Crusade at Aboso.

The beneficiaries thanked the MP and MCE profusely for thinking and caring about them.

On her part, Very Rev. Mrs Deborah Nyarko Affenyi acknowledged “There are several people who gave us promise but refused to honour it. But, in the case of Lawyer Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, she has honoured her promise. We are grateful to her as a Church and pray for more success in her endeavours”.

Speaking to the media after the tour, the MP, Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyasi said political power is used to change people's lives and pledged to support her constituents.

She, therefore, seized the opportunity and appealed to her people to rally behind President Akufo-Addo government to fulfil his promises.

Personalities who accompanied MP and MCE include, Mr Ebenezer Owusu, Mr Abiam Danso, NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr Anokye, 1st Vice Chairman of NPP, Emmanuel Ennor Arthur, 2nd Vice Chairman, NPP, Francis Abeiku Yankah, and Hajia Azume, Women Organizer, the media among others.
