Ho, March 19, GNA - The public expects political parties and politicians assist institutions responsible for public education by canvassing public support to ensure positive response to the current voters' registration exercise.
This position was reflected in the sampling of public views at some voters' registration centres visited by the Ghana News Agency in Ho on Thursday.
Mr Winfred Awittor, a retired educationist, appealed to politicians and members of political parties to engaged in public education and dissemination of information on the voters' registration exercise. "Political parties should know that they need the votes more than the Electoral Commission (EC) and the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE)", he said.
Mr Kodzo Muzan, a party agent urged political parties to assist the EC to compile a credible register.
Despite the fact that the registration officials in Ho expressed dissatisfaction at the allowances to be paid to them, they were discharging their assignments.
Most registration centres in Ho have recorded on the average more than 150 people since the exercise started last Tuesday.
