Radio Univers receives new bus from the Vice-Chancellor

Professor Ernest Aryeetey, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, on Friday presented a 15-seater bus valued at GH?63.000.00 to the volunteers and staff of the Radio Univers at Legon.

Professor Aryeetey said for the past six years, the station had not been able to acquire a bus due to the difficulty in getting finances to support the purchase and appealed to the station to handle the bus with care. He also promised to procure a standby generator to assist the Station during power outage.

He advised the volunteers and staff to continue in their endeavour to reach out to the World for people to know what is happening in the University. He added that he was happy with the new structures introduced by the management to help run the station.

Dr. Clement Abass Apaak, the Station Manager of Radio Univers, said the Station has become an integral part of the University of Ghana and would continue to give their best although they had their own peculiar problems.

He said the presentation of the new bus will enhance the work at the Station and thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the Management of the University.

The Director of Public Relations of the University of Ghana, Mrs. Stella Amoah, said more would be done by the University authorities to help up-grade the Station and make it the best in the universe and urged student volunteers to continue to do their best.**
