Kumasi, June 23, GNA- The residents of Kwantwoma East at the Ahenbronum Electoral Area at Old Tafo in the Kumasi Metropolis, have planned to establish a Police Post to help check criminal activities in the area. They have therefore, appealed to the Ashanti Regional Police Command to provide them with personnel as soon as offices were provided. Mr. Francis Ampadu, assemblyman for the Area, announced this at a meeting with the Kwantwoma East Landlords Association at Old Tafo in Kumasi on Friday. He said the people have also agreed to form Community Neighbourhood Watchdog Committee in the area to assist clamp down on criminal activities and appealed to the residents to become members of the committee.
Mr. Ampadu commended the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei for ensuring the provision of infrastructure, rehabilitation of roads, toilets, classroom blocks, electricity to improve their living conditions. He said most of the schools in the area also had benefited from the government feeding programme and advised parents to reciprocate the gesture by sending their children to school. Mr. Ben Athur Duncan, Interim Chairman of the association, said effort was being made to revive the association to enable them initiate more development programmes to enhance their living conditions. He appealed to the members of the association to meet periodically to deliberate on issues that would promote their welfare.
