Swiss Angels Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Anfoega in the North-Dayi District of the Volta Region has donated assorted items worth GH¢4000 to cured lepers at the Ho Leprosarium.
The donation was in line with the foundation’s commitment to helping improve the wellbeing of the needy, sick and underprivileged in society.
The items donated included toiletries, bags of rice and maize, cartons of milk and tin tomatoes, cooking oil and clothes.
The Co-Founder and Country Director of SWISS Foundation, Francis Daffor, expressed optimism the donation would help lessen financial burden of the facility for a period of time.
“We cannot solve all your problems but we can do our best to help ease your suffering and hope to visit you often”, he said.
A caretaker at the Ho Leprosarium, Nelson Atito, who received the items, expressed his gratitude to the foundation and affirmed the donation would save their coffers, as they spend a lot of money on food.
He appealed to other benevolent bodies to come to their aid to provide the Leprosarium with street lights, toilet facilities, water reservoirs, and medical supplies.
