Students of Saboba EP Senior High School on Sunday deserted campus to take refuge in town to avoid the wrath of an angry mob from two nearby communities.
The mob did not take kindly to the action of the students to block a route on campus, which they use to access their farms.
The Headmaster of the school was injured in the attack and had since taken refuge in the local police station.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, Public Relations Officer of the Northern Police Command told Ghana News Agency in Tamale that on Saturday, March 23, the students prevented some women from the two communities who were cutting robes used to block the route in order to visit their farms.
He said this led to the reprisal attacks which resulted in the destruction of school property.
ASP Tetteh said the police had begun investigations into the incident whilst a re-enforcement team is in Saboba to maintain law and order.
He said no arrest has been made yet.
