The Sam Owusu Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation of the Champion Ways Chapel, is supporting 75 brilliant but needy students to pursue courses in tertiary institutions.
The foundation is also offering scholarships to 120 pupils at Adeiso, near Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
Bishop Sam Owusu, President of the foundation, disclosed this at the launch of the ‘Oil to Prosper' international conference of the church, at Achimota in Accra, on Wednesday.
The conference, which is on the theme, ‘The Coin in the Fish’ starts on Wednesday, July 22 to Friday, July 31.
It is aimed at praying for peace and stability of the nation and also empower the participants, both spiritually and physically, to face the challenges ahead.
Bishop Owusu, who is also the General Overseer of the church said for any country to succeed, there was the need for its people to live in peace and harmony.
He said one of the policies of the church was to ensure that there was always peace in the country.
‘We are creating awareness for the people to embrace peace, especially when the country would be going for elections next year’, Bishop Owusu said.
He appealed to government to find solutions to the unemployment problem and also expand the street-naming exercise to ensure that all streets are named.
The General Overseer tasked the government to form a commission, which would regularize the activities of churches in the country.
Bishop Owusu urged Ghanaians to change their attitude towards the environment and support the national Sanitation exercises introduced by the government.
He expressed the hope that participants would impart the knowledge they would acquire to society.
