Schoolgirl goes missing, Headteacher appeals to police to help

Suhum (E/R), Oct 20, GNA - The Headteacher of Suhum Anglican Primary School, Mr Kingsly Darko, has appealed to the Police Administration to help trace Miss Sylvia Amegbor, a class two pupil of the school, who went missing while on her way to school on October 9. Making the appeal at the weekend, Mr Darko said Sylvia, who lives with the parents at Aponoapono Number one, always walked about one kilometre from the village to the school.

He said on October 9 Sylvia, who was on afternoon shift, left the house to school but failed to return.

Her father, Mr Kwaku Amegbor, went to the school to enquire about her daughter but was informed that the daughter did not come to school. The father informed the Odikro of the village, Baffour Nantey Kofi, who caused a gong-gong to be beaten and a search party was organised.

In the cause of the search the party found a rag soaked with blood in the bush.

Mr Darko said even though a report was made to the police, nothing has been heard and as result children who walk from the surrounding villages to attend school in the Suhum town have stopped going to school.
