Nkwabirim (Ash), July 23, GNA - Work will soon begin on the resurfacing of selected feeder roads in the Nsuta-Kwamang section of the Sekyere West district of Ashanti.
The Mampong-Nkwabirim, Kwamang Junction-Nkamadoa, Jansa Junction-Nkubem, Npantuase-Kyebi Junction and Ankamadoa-Aframso Number Two link road has been awarded on contract at a cost of 490 million cedis.
The roads linking Mprim Junction-Boanim, Krowi Junction-Krowi, Nkwanta-Brengo and Dadiase-Amenase would also be resurfaced at a cost of 344 million cedis.
Mr Haruna Oppong-Boateng, the Sekyere West District Chief Executive disclosed this at a meeting with the chiefs and people of Nkwabirim on Friday.
He said the government would continue to pay more attention to the provision of infrastructure like good roads, potable drinking water, health care facilities and electricity to speed rural development. Mr Oppong-Boateng urged the people to continue to support the government to lay the grounds for rapid socio-economic development. The DCE advised the people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme so that they can have access to affordable quality health care.
Mr Appiah Semereka, secretary of the Nkwabirim community, appealed to the district assembly to assist in extending electricity to the primary and junior secondary schools in the town. He also asked the assembly to provide building materials for the completion of a kindergarten block and expressed appreciation to government for providing them with their share of development projects.
