Sensitization on rule of law yield result in Alavanyo – GAF

The Ghana Armed Forces (GFA) on Tuesday said the people of Alavanyo are beginning to demonstrate their understanding of the rule of law due to the educational campaign going on in the area.

It said this has been amply demonstrated by the citizens of Alavanyo Deme, Agorme, as well as people from as far as Alavanyo Wudidi.

A statement signed by Major E. Assan, for the Director of Public Relations of the GAF, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday said, on July 14, at 1530 hours, between “Alavanyo Deme and Alavanyo Agorme, whilst warming one of the Police armoured vehicles; the said vehicle fell on its side, injuring the driver, Lance Corporal Ernest Acheampong and the escort, Police Constable Prince Addey Quaye.

It noted that the people of Alavanyo Deme and Alavanyo Agorme immediately came to the scene of the accident, removed the occupants from the accident vehicle, and immediately rushed them to the Kapando Hospital.

“This action by the people of Alavanyo is worthy of commendation. As a result of the Task Force educational campaign, the citizens have realized that the security personnel in their area are not enemies but friends and brothers. Before the educational campaign, the people of Alavanyo saw the task force as unfriendly,” the GAF statement said.
