Senya Beraku citizens attend development congress

Senya Beraku (C/R), March 26, GNA - Senya Beraku citizens residing in the country and outside, who have come home for the Easter holidays are holding a two-day congress from Saturday, March 26 to Sunday March 27 and would launch a two-year development programme to give the town a facelift.

Among the projects that would be given priority at the congress are education, health, economics and agriculture. Proceeds from a special appeal for fund to be organized at the congress dubbed "Homecoming Easter Congress 2005" would be used to commence the projects. Mr Onassis Anderson, ch airman of the Senya Urban Council, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Senya Beraku on Saturday said, during the congress reports on how the council had worked for the past two years would be discussed. According to him, members of the council worked tirelessly towards the total transformation in the administration and infrastructure growth of the traditional area.

He said Mr Samuel Owusu-adjei, MPs for Effutu, Mr Oppey Abbey, MP for Awutu, Mr Haruna Esseku, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Captain Steve Kwamena Armah, the DCE for Awutu-Effutu-Senya District are some of the personalities invited to attend the congress.
