Soul Food ICT College holds graduation ceremony

Mr Eddie Lesta, Director of Soul Food Information Communication Technology, a free ICT training institute, has appealed to government, philanthropists and ICT focused organisation to support the course of training the youth in ICT.

He said, the institute needs the funding to train more youth to make them self-employed to forestall increases in social vices, adding: “and to also help us continue withthe offering of free ICT education”, in Accra.

Mr Lesta made the appeal during the 13th graduation ceremony of 750 beneficiaries, who underwent the free ICT training at Soul Food Ministries International (SFMI),

He said, the programme, named: “Free for all,” is an initiative by the SFMI, which has been on-going for the past five years and had so far offered training to 6,026 people.

Mr Lesta, who is also the General Overseer of the church said ,the free for all initiative came about because he had a call from God asking him to use such means to bless people and improve the society.

He said the free ICT training is a non-denominational and non-religious biased training programme, which educate and equip students in various information technology courses such as Hardware, Networking, Windows 2003 server, Windows 2008 server, Cisco certified Network Administration, SQL, Linux Sled Novel Netware and System Analysis Design.

“These courses offered freely by SFMI are offered by various institutions within the country at quite enormous sums, but the decision of the churches to offer these courses for free is to contribute to the development of the youth as well as help build a better country for us all,” he added.

He therefore charged the graduates to apply whateverthey’ve learnt in the school positively to improve society and impart other lives.

Mr Letsa urged them not to rely on government, adding: “Your life belongs to you, and you must drive it yourself.”
