Sport Fans Hopeful

Jasikan, June 26 GNA - Zealous soccer fans at Jasikan, in the Volta region are hopeful that the titanic duel between the Black Stars and their Brazilian counterparts would sway in favour of the only remaining African representatives at the World Cup in Germany, when the two sides meet on Tuesday.

They predicted a crunchy duel that would end in 2-1, with others envisaging a 2-0 drubbing of the defending champions, come what may. The stalwart supporters contended that gone were days when names used to play soccer adding that modern trends had shown that football was played by eleven players who could triumph by hitting the back of their opponents' net.

They said the Stars had demonstrated championship stuff to reach this stage of the tournament and would add Brazil to their casualty list. The fans begged for fair officiating to enable the Stars to glitter and show the 91samba boys' the originality of samba spiced with an African soccer multi-system.

They called for continued spiritual and physical support from Ghanaians for another sterling performance form the Black Stars on Tuesday. Mr Ibrahim Isaka, a soccer fan told the Ghana News Agency Sports that the Black Stars would continue to be the surprise team of the tournament.
