As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Stanbic Bank has donated GHC10, 000 to the Likpe Educational and Social Fund.
Handing over the cheque to the administrators of the developmental project, Kojo Akoi-Larbi, Manager, Communications, Stanbic Bank, said the donation is in line with Stanbic Bank’s commitment to support laudable projects that help communities and the vulnerable.
“As a bank, we are not only concerned about making profit; we believe in giving back to the society and helping communities move forward,” Akoi-Larbi said. “We like the fact that the Likpe Educational and Social Fund is aimed at transforming the community and we are willing to offer our support every step of the way.”
On behalf of the Likpe Traditional Council, Professor Anthony Aboagye, Chairman of the Educational and Social Committee, expressed the council’s appreciation to Stanbic Bank for coming to their aid.
He said, the traditional council, with the help of corporate institutions such as Stanbic Bank, has been able to purchase educational materials for schools in the community and occasionally organises social programmes to raise funds to develop the community.
“The performance of students in the community is gradually improving as a result of the educational books and learning materials made available to through the fund,” he said.
