Stop the class system in the church -Pastor Agyeman

Kumasi, March 18, GNA-Pastor Opoku Agyeman, Principal, Heart Bible College, a training institution for pastors, has denounced the emerging class system within the church, saying, the development is unhealthy. He said he found everything wrong with the situation where the church seem to accord special preferential treatment to members of the congregation who often make huge financial contributions to it.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, Pastor Agyeman said any genuine and true Christian should have cause to worry as "the Christian world is drifting dangerously towards materialism".

He noted that it is this development that has resulted in growing indiscipline both within the church and in society in general.

"It is about time we got our values system right as followers of Christ and set high standards to bring some sanity into the society". The Principal called for an end to "prosperity preaching and doctrines fed to the people on the airwaves so that Christ-centred teachings to keep Ghanaians away from evil would thrive."

Pastor Agyeman called on church leaders to have the courage to reprimand those whose way of life run contrary to what is socially and morally acceptable.

He also appealed to the training institutions for pastors to accept the challenge of helping to remove from the society strange and false Bible teachings and doctrines.
