Students from Ningo/Prampram District receive free laptops

A total of 1,053 students from two Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Ningo/Prampram District have received laptop computers under the Government Free Laptop Per Child Project. As many as 931 of the beneficiary students were selected from the Ningo SHS while the rest, 122 came from the Prampram SHS.

Speaking at separate functions at Prampram and Ningo, Mr Enoch Teye Mensah, Acting Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, pledged the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) government determination to provide quality education in the country.

Mr Mensah, who is also the Member of Parliament for the area, and the brain behind the supply of the computers, explained that the project was aimed at equipping school children with basic knowledge in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

He advised the students to make maximum use of the computers in order to enhance their knowledge in ICT.

The headmasters of the two schools expressed their profound appreciation to the government for initiating the project and expressed the hope that the computers would go a long way to assist the students in improving their knowledge in ICT.

Mr Jacob Lartey Ayim, Presiding member of the Ningo/Prampram Assembly entreated tuitors of the two schools to assist the students to make good use of the computers.
