Superintendent Minister inaugurates Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary

Jacobu (Ash), Aug 26, GNA- A branch of the Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary of the Methodist Church was last Sunday inaugurated at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti.

The Very Reverend Kwabena Osei-Owusu, Superintendent Minister in-charge of the Jacobu circuit of the Methodist Church who inaugurated the Auxiliary, asked women not to underrate themselves.

He regretted that some women regard themselves as inferior to men and said they should see themselves as equal to men and also realise that they were also teachers of children.

Preaching the sermon, which had its theme: "The Better Part", he asked women not to leave the training of their children in the hands of men alone and told them to refrain from insulting and punishing their children as a means of correcting children.

Rev Osei-Owusu urged women to undertake some income generating ventures that would empower them to cater for their needs as well as that of their children instead of depending solely on their husbands. He asked members to let the word of God be their guiding principle.

Mrs Sara Doughan, President of the Obuasi Diocese of the organisation, commended Mrs Beatrice Osei-Owusu through whose initiative and hard work the auxiliary was formed.

The auxiliary later presented curtains and flowers valued at three million cedis to the Jacobu Wesley society as its contribution to the church's growth.

An appeal for fund yielded 6.5 million cedis for the Church.
