The new executives of Polytechnics branch of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) have condemned the attempt by their predecessors to break away from the Union, saying that any attempt to induce anybody to break away would fail.
The predecessors’ excuse was that TEWU was not getting the Fair Wages and Salary Commission to put them on a good scale but the executives said the allegation was unfounded knowing the untiring efforts of TEWU in tackling the problem.
It said in a statement signed by all executives and issued in Accra that it was a national problem cutting across all government and public institutions.
The executives added, “The mere fact that they could not assign any cogent reason exposes them of their hidden agenda” and that was for their personal gains.
The statement called on the rank and file to stand solidly behind TEWU and not allow themselves to be influenced by anybody.
