Immediate past Tafo divisional police commander, ASP John Yeboah has been commended by residents within his operational areas for his hardwork and dedicated service over the years. He has also been hailed for his good inter-personal relationship with the various communities and agencies in the area.
Executive Director of Cocoa Research Institute(CRIG) Dr. Anim Kwapong who disclosed this at a send off ceremony for the commander at Akyem Tafo in the eastern region, was also pleased with the reduction in armed robbery as well as flushing out drug peddlers. He however, commended the commander for his commitment to the fighting of crime in the area and called on his successor to step into his predecessor's shoe and continue the goodwork he did.
Mr. Kwapong challenged him to extend his enthusiasim to wherever he is transfered to and work hard to raise the image of the police force.
The immediate past commander, ASP JOhn Yeboah in his speech expressed gratitude to the entire residents and fellow commrades for their continious support since he assumed post in 2011. He was grateful that his admnistration achieved alot in terms of crime. He mentioned the arrest and prosecution of drug peddlers, the mounting of barriers at vantage points, the provision of sign post to all police stations within his jurisdiction as well as reduction in armed robbery activities on Begoro-Osiem road as some of his major achievements.
" I am however not happy that the regional command refuse to conduct proper investigations into allegations against me by one Mr. Atuahene,Tafo GPRTU chairman, who disguised himself as a chief within the Akyem Abuakwa traditional area" he added.
ASP John Yeboah was optimistic that his hardwork will go a long way in the minds of the masses and therefore pledged to do his best at his new office. He also appealed to the public to contact the police for assistance at all times and do away the perception that the police are unfriendly.
The rousing and jubilant who could not hide their happiness danced to music tunes despite the rains. The residents were grateful to the commander but wished he stayed with them to continue his hardwork.
It was attended by prominent chiefs across the area as well as the christian fraternity. ASP John Yeboah is now with the Visibility Patrol Unit at the Regional Police Command in Koforidua.
