Takoradi market circle, now a waste disposal center

For now, the Takoradi Market Circle, the central business center of the oil city, has become a dumping ground for garbage.

This is as a result of non-availability of waste containers in the area. As a result, the place has now become a dumping ground, where the indiscriminate disposal of waste and filth is now the order of the day.

When this File passed by the place on Tuesday, there was no container available for the market women, who trade at the place, to dump their waste and rubbish.

As a result, the market women and passer-bys have no other option than to dispose of their waste on the bare ground. The place has been turned into an open waste disposal center, where everyone comes to dump their waste.

This sad development raises questions about the waste management system put in place by the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) and Zoomlion Company in properly dealing with waste, which has bedevilled the oil city with its accompanying health associated problems.

It is not clear when the waste, which is stinking, would be cleared from Market Circle, where brisk business takes place.
