Talensi NPP Chairman buried

Sheagah (U/E), Jan. 31, GNA - Burial took place at Sheagah near Tongo of the late Mr. James Bugbilla, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Talensi in the newly created Talensi/Nabdam District in the Upper East Region at the weekend.

The late Mr. Bugbilla was also the Senior Housemaster of Bolgatanga Secondary School (BIGBOSS), Assembly member for Sheaga and Chairman of the Finance and Administration Sub-committee of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly.

A large crowd of mourners, including NPP members, sympathisers from the NDC and other political parties, attended the burial service. The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Mahami Salifu, speaking at the service aid it was a healthy sign that members of the opposition parties were present to grieve with the NPP, adding that, "this is an indication of the prevailing peace in this area".

He later presented two bags of rice, assorted drinks and two million cedis to the bereaved family.

The Regional Minister urged the mourners to be guided by the ideals the late Bugbilla stood for as an NPP activist.

In a tribute, the Headmaster of BIGBOSS, Mr. Francis Avonsige, described the late Bugbilla as "a rare disciplinarian," adding that, the school had lost a teacher and a colleague.
