Naa Professor Abubakr Al-Hassan, Principal of the Technical University College of Tamale (TUCT), has appealed to the Government to support the college with modern equipment to enhance teaching and learning.
He said the college needed modern technical and technological equipment such as modern geodetic engineering equipment to enhance engineering practical work and appealed to other stakeholders in the education sector to also assist.
Professor Al-Hassan made the appeal during the joint matriculation and graduation ceremony of TUCT on Wednesday.
He said there was the need for the Government to assist the TUCT to promote technical and technological education in the country.
Professor Walter Sandow Alhassan, TUCT Council Chairman, said the college had started with nine new first degree programmes in the 2014-2015 academic year which included Architecture, Building Technology, Land Economy, Estate Management, Civil Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Nursing, Business Studies, and Management Studies.
He said the school, which was established in 2001, had provided high quality university education and research to students to contribute effectively to the development of the country.
Professor Alhassan advised the graduands to be honest in their dealings and work very hard in their assigned duties to promote the development of the country.
