Tarkwa MCE cut sod for seven projects

Gilbert Ken Asmah, Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality on Tuesday, 26th March 2019 cut sod for seven projects at six different localities within the Municipality.

"As promised during my acceptance speech in 2017, I shall ensure that we bridge the infrastructure deficit in this Municipality in all sectors of the economy".

The Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE, made the observation during a one day intensive sod cutting exercise to commence the construction of seven projects at separate communities respectively. The projects include a 2 unit KG classroom block with ancillary facilities at the Hooper memorial school estimated at 187,308.48 due to be completed in six months. Construction of mechanised boreholes at Nzemalane and Esuoso at the sum of 69,252.29 due for completion in four months by Firm fields Company Limited.

Construction of 8 seater W.C toiler facility for Presbyterian school at Brenuakyim valued at 95,180.00 due for completion in eight months by Evskine Engineering Limited. A 3 unit classroom block with a living room and kitchen for house master and a 2- bay urinal all at Benso Senior High School at the cost of 178,964.49 to be competed withing eight months to be constructed by Builders Captain Construction Limited.

The others are conversion of pan latrines to W.C toilet facility at New and Old Cyanide, opposite Metro Mass Transit valued at 168,284.20 to be completed in eight months period by Magnate Mining Services and the Rehabilitation of existing malfunctioning boreholes at the cost of 69,926.93 to be completed in four months by Anthony Kumi Enterprise.

Speaking to the media after the exercise, Hon Gilbert Ken Asmah mentioned that the projects, when completed, would be of immense benefits to the inhabitants.
He hinted further, that the Assembly, last year, embarked on various projects in education, health, culverts and gutters, water and sanitation to change the fortunes and raise the standard of living of the people in Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality, he added.

He expressed his desire to continue working hard to provide the people with the basic social amenities that would help improve their lives, adding that the rapid development of Ghana was very dear to the heart of His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, urging all to rally behind Ghana beyond Aid mantra for a prosperous economy.

He was accompanied by Mr. Alex Duah, Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Obeng, Works Engineer Mr. Asmond Baffoe, Town and Country planning Officer and Assembly Members.
