The Tarkwa Government Hospital has recorded seven births on Tuesday December 25, this year’s Christmas day.
Madam Matilda Awotwe Quaicou, midwife in charge of the Maternity ward of the health facility, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency at Tarkwa, said five of the babies are girls and two were boys.
She said the first baby, who is a boy, was given birth to at exactly 1210 hours on Tuesday and as at 1030 hours, two pregnant women were in labour.
Madam Quaicou said that all the women, who were delivered of their babies through normal means, were doing well.
She advised nursing mothers to practice family planning, exclusive breast feeding, and to keep themselves and their children clean to help promote personal hygiene.
Madam Grace Bonney, one of the woman, who gave birth at the hospital on Tuesday, praised God and commended the hospital staff for the safe delivery of all the mothers.
