Teachers, parents appreciate feeding programme

Kofiko (B/A) June 24, GNA - The Parents and Teachers of at the District Assembly Primary School at Kofiko in Jaman South have expressed their appreciation to the government for the school's inclusion in the first phase of NEPAD basic school feeding programme. The school is among six basic schools chosen in the district for the pilot project, notwithstanding their location in the hinterland. Mr. Charles Asumah, head teacher of the school, expressed the PTA's compliments and heartfelt gratitude in an interview with GNA after a PTA meeting.

He disclosed that the PTA had planned to provide funds for the erection of a structure for the feeding of the pupils, adding the teachers and parents had promised to utilize the NEPAD fund for the full benefit of the pupils.

In a related development, Mr. Michael Ansu, a native of Kofiko and product of the school now resident in Canada, has pledged to provide library books worth 1,000 dollars to the school. The parents and teachers expressed appreciation for the gesture by Mr Ansu and his brother, Mr Kwaku Fentim, also resident of Canada, who presented football equipment to the school at various times. 24 June 06
