Techiman Municipal Assembly makes the mark in management-FOAT

Techiman (B/A) March 9, GNA - The Techiman Municipal Assembly has scored 96 per cent in the Functional Organisational Assessment Tool (FOAT)exercise under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

The assessment processes centred on human resource management, planning system, management and organisation and financial management. Other areas included auditing, physical capacity, environmental sanitation and management procurement, transparency, openness and accountability as well as relationship with structures of the assembly.

Madam Celestina Deku, team leader of FOAT, commended the municipal assembly for the marks scored and urged them to keep it up. She advised the assembly to work to attain a good financial position and to help sustain proper record keeping. Madam Deku asked the planning system of the assembly to monitor reports of the previous year's projects and programmes to be linked to their action plans on the basis of formulating the medium term development plan.

She recommended that coordination of the financial resources worked together with the assembly, which should not only base on progress reports but to include its activities. Alhaji Adam Hafiz, Municipal Coordinating Director, lauded the understanding and cooperation of the staff of the assembly that had made the assembly to achieve better results of the FOAT processes. Mr. Alex Kyeremeh, Municipal Chief Executive, commended staff of the assembly for working as a team without which the assembly could not have achieved such high marks.
