The king-makers and elders of the Tekyina Aboradze Royal Family at Gomoa Mpota have removed Opanin Kwesi Gurah as head of the family (Abusuapanyin) for gross misconduct and misappropriation of funds.
The decision for the removal of the Abusuapanyin was reached after consultations by the king-makers and elders of the royal family, with the Omanbaatan, Obusuabaatan, Obaahemaa, Safohemaa, and all sectional family heads of Mpota.
A statement issued and signed by Nana Oprohn Ekwam, Omankrado of Mpota and copied to the Ghana News Agency at Agona Swedru, said the removal of the Obusuapanyin took retrospective effect from November 17.
The statement, therefore, warned that anyone who transacts business with the former Obusuapanyin concerning Mpota Stool lands, does so at his or her own risk.
The statement reminded the public that the king-makers, elders and the Oman, have not made any nominations, vetting and the election of anyone for the position of a chief of Mpota as being perceived by certain personalities including divisional and paramount chiefs in the Gomoa East District.
