With a conscious effort to enhance the Tema Regional M.T.T.D police operations, the Tema Greenwich and Accra Ubuntu Lions Clubs recently donated 3,000 visibility vests to the station.
The donation, which is part of the clubs' initiative to raise awareness about safety and help the police combat crime in society, was deemed necessary to provide the police with essential equipment.
In addition to the safety awareness campaign, the various clubs gathered in Tema to promote the importance of peaceful living and taking safety precautions in their activities.
This initiative will help improve peaceful co-existence free from crime and deviant activities.
Lion Mawutor Djrakey, President of the Tema Greenwich Lions Club, emphasized the critical role of community support in assisting the police, especially the MTTD, in ensuring road safety and compliance.
Lion Naomi Adjeley Anang, Marketing Chairperson of the Accra Ubuntu Lions Club, stressed the importance of conducting safety awareness campaigns to maximize public safety.
"This initiative assists the police in carrying out their operational duties smoothly," she observed.
The Marketing Chairperson reiterated that ensuring public safety is an essential tool for instilling discipline and guiding individuals on a positive path.
She also noted that it was crucial for both clubs to lead such significant activities within the Tema metropolis.
Lion Rosina Owusua Amponsah, the Chairperson of the Donation Activity Committee, highlighted the importance of safety awareness in reducing crime and improving community well-being.
She praised the police for their dedication and encouraged continued collaboration to maintain road safety.
