The Tema Country Rotary Club has donated 2,800 assorted textbooks to Paul Asare Ansah, former GPHA Director-General, to support his 'One family, two graduates' agenda in each household in the Asuogyaman District, Eastern Region.

The books, in addition to some 1,000 the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) had given to the former Director-General, an aspirant in the Asuogyaman NPP Parliamentary Candidate (PC) contest, would be distributed to all seven second-cycle schools in the district.

Apeguso Senior High School (SHS), Adjena SHS, Boso SHS, Akosombo International School, Learning Field SHS, Akuamuman SHS and Anum Presby SHS are to benefit from the educational support championed by the NPP aspiring PC.

Nii Nii Quaye Amasah, former Tema Country Rotary President, who presented the textbooks to Mr Ansah at the Tema Rotary Club books depot today, explained that Rotary Club is an international non-partisan non-governmental organisation (NGO) that supports laudable individual and community agenda.

"Therefore, when Mr Paul Ansah wrote to us [Rotary Club] in Accra for some SHS textbooks to support his 'one family, two graduates' agenda in his constituency, we welcomed it and, today, I am here, on behalf of Rotary Club, to present 2,800 assorted SHS textbooks to our recipient to champion his vision," Mr Amasah explained.

In his remarks, Paul Asare Ansah said his vision is that in ten years, each household in his constituency must boast of two graduates "and the agenda began last year with various supports I am providing for the JHS to SHS, and hopefully, extend it to the tertiary."

He said leadership includes one's ability to lobby for external supports to augment what he or she can do to better the living condition of the people who need to be served.
Given this, he said he would work hard to stand in the gap for especially the less-privileged by doing everything within his ability to keep his vision kindled.

He thanked Rotary Club and GPHA for the support.

Each beneficiary school delegated a representative to accompany Mr Ansah to the Tema Rotary Club books depot, and they expressed immense gratitude to the NPP aspiring PC for his unabated support for the schools in the Asuogyaman District.
