The nation needs visionary Christians - Apostle Essel

Kumasi, July 24, GNA - Apostle John Kingsley Essel, Kumasi South Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, has stated that the nation needs visionary Christians to help in the development of the country. He said Christians should refrain from being self-centred and to cultivate the habit of sharing their vision with others and to support the needy.

Apostle Essel was speaking at the closing of a 12-day

"Inspirational Bible Teaching and Revealing Prayers" organised by the Bompata District of the Church in Kumasi on Friday. The programme on the theme, "Keep The Fire Burning" coincided with the foundation stone laying ceremony for a two-storey mission house of the Church.

Apostle Essel, who led the congregation to pray for the government and the people of Ghana, called on the people to be honest, love one another and to serve God and their neighbours with an open heart. He asked them to think about peace in the country since they were serving a living God and would reap whatever they sow.

Pastor Sampson Kingsley Mensah, in-charge of the South Suntreso branch of the Church, asked them to be careful and lead good lives to enable them to give good account of themselves.

He stressed the importance of the mission house and urged them to contribute towards its completion.

Elder Sefa Boachie, said 456 million cedis had been spent on the project, which was left with the fixing of doors, painting and other minor works to complete.

Three Pastors were ordained and 12 bicycles and a quantity of used clothes worth 12 million cedis presented to Church for evangelisation in rural areas.
