Three communities raise money for development

Domi-Beposo (Ash), April 26, GNA - Three communities in the Amansie West district of Ashanti has organised a special Easter harvests to raise money in aid of their electrification projects. The communities were Manso-Domi-Beposo, Manso-Abiram and Manso-Wahaso.

Speaking at these functions separately, Mr Ben Kwakye-Adeefe, the District Chief Executive, commended the people for their resolve to better their living standards.

He said, it was the aim of the government and for that matter, the district assembly to assist communities that initiated self-help projects and therefore asked them to keep it up.

Mr Kwakye-Adeefe used the occasion to explain the importance of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to the communities and asked them to register with the scheme so that they can have quality health care.

The DCE called for peace in the area now, during and after the December presidential and parliamentary elections to further strengthen the democratic process.

At the Manso-Domi-Beposo harvest, the DCE on behalf of the assembly donated 10 low-tension electricity poles valued at 12 million cedis to the community.

Mr Kwakye-Adeefe again donated another 10 low-tension electricity poles to the Manso-Abiram community towards the project and gave three packets of roofing sheets and 20 bags of cement to the Manso-Wahaso to complete their kindergarten block.
