Three thousand people receive free medical care at Akwatia

Akwatia, July 31, GNA - The Medical Ministry of the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry (CEM)has provided free medical care to 3,000 people at Akwatia in the Kwaebibrem District of the Eastern Region. Sixty health personnel including 12 medical practitioners undertook eye screening, blood pressure of the people, malaria treatment and de-worming of children under 14 years. Dr Roseline Doe, Head of the Medical Ministry told newsmen that it was part of CEM for Rural World Mission.

She said in addition to preaching the gospel, the church provided food, clothing, books and medical treatment to rural dwellers. The Ministry undertook the exercise after a three-day crusade under the theme "Christ to the Rural World, Akwatia for Christ Crusade 2006," jointly organized by CEM, Covenant Family Church and Harvest Chapel International in conjunction with the Akwatia Local Council of Churches.

Osabarima Kofi Boateng III, Akwatiahene, commended the church for the crusade and the exercise that would help improve the health care of the people. He was optimistic the crusade would win more souls for Jesus Christ.
