With the support of Tigo, the Anglican Women’s Vocational Training Centre at Afari, near Nkawie in the Ashanti region has commissioned a new Kitchen complex as part of efforts to offer a more hands-on training in a congenial environment.
The new complex comes with a residential room for the head teacher, a classroom block, a dining room for students, a large kitchen area, toilet and washrooms. Prior to the construction of the new complex, catering students were undertaking their practical work in the open air.
The Training Centre established in 2010 by the Kumasi Diocesan Anglican Women’s Ministry, offer training courses in catering, dressmaking, hairdressing, entrepreneurship, business management and accounting for young women in the Ashanti region.
The project was commissioned by the wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia Osei-Tutu; and the Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese & Presiding Bishop, Joint Anglican Diocesan Council Rt., Rt. Rev. Daniel Yinka Sarfo.
