Two Birim South Communities benefit from projects

Akyem Asuoso, Aug 8, GNA - Akyem Asuoso and Akyem Aperade in the Birim South District are to benefit from school projects under phase two of Community Based Rural Development Program (CBRDP).

While a block of three classrooms, an office and a store are to be built at Akyem Aperade, a kindergarten would be put up at Akyem Asuoso. Mrs Cedonia Dere, Eastern Regional Coordinator of CBRDP, said this at a day's workshop for members of Akyem Akroso and Akyem Aperade Area councils at Akyem Asuoso on Tuesday.

She said 90 percent of the funding would come from the CBRDP with the communities contributing the remaining 10 percent. Mrs Dere urged the participants to use the Rapid Results Initiative Methodology to ensure that the projects were completed within the stipulated period of 100 days.

Mr Daniel Y. Gyan-Barima, the District Co-ordinating Director, urged all to play their roles effectively towards the success of the projects that were to be executed on pilot basis. He urged the beneficiary communities to offer communal labour to ensure their early completion to motivate the sponsors to extend similar facilities to other communities.
