Two farming companies to construct Technical, Vocational Institute

Obom (G/A) Sept. 01, GNA-Golden Exotic Limited and Bomart Farms Limited , a pineapples farms Limited is to construct a Technical and Vocational Institute to serve about 18 Junior Secondary schools at Obom. Nii Obom Amoate II, Chief of Obom, who had earlier offered 20 hectares land for the project made this known to the Ghana News Agency after an inspection on the site with some officials of the company.

Nii Amoate II said apart from the institutions to be constructed to raise the educational standard of JSS leavers in the area, the companies had engaged over one thousand of the youth in the pineapple farms. Mr. Martin Botwe, Mnaaging Director of Bomart Farms said the institution, after completion would assist the youth to gain employment in the companies, instead of moving to the cities to seek greener pastures. He said the formation of the technical and the vocational institutions would train more technicians and agriculturalists, and the females would also benefit from vocational training.

Mr Sylvanus Tettey Martey, Assembly member for the area commended the farm managers, and appealed to the people to join the National Health Insurance Scheme.
