UDS fetes financial institutions in Tamale

Professor Haruna Yakubu, Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS) has called for sustained partnership between the UDS and financial institutions in the country to speed up the growth of the university.

He said the UDS would continue to recognize the immense contributions of the financial institutions operating in the Northern Region in the growth of UDS, which must be further strengthened.

Professor Yakubu made the call at the Dungu campus of the University on Friday, during a get-to-gather to recognize the contributions of the various banks to the development of UDS in terms of support of its programmes and infrastructure development.

“We at UDS recognize your major roles and contributions to the development of our university and this function is not just to eat and drink but an opportunity for us to say thank you for the continuous support”, he said.

“We will be writing to all of you about our annual programmes and projects to see if it will be possible to sign agreements on those that you can support us on yearly basis to end the annual ritual of writing proposals to you”, he said.

Representatives of the various banks commended the UDS for organising the party for them as a customer and pledged their continuous support for the university’s programmes and activities as well as helping to improve infrastructure.

Some of the banks pledged to continue supporting the UDS and all its campuses in Tamale, Nyankpala, Navrongo and Wa to ensure a balanced development in terms of programmes, projects and activities.
