Sunyani, May 15, GNA - Mrs. Cecilia Naab Ockling, National Vice chairperson of the Public Service Workers Union (PSWU), has appealed to workers to discharge their duties with humility and honesty while the union continues to negotiate with the government to implement the single spine salary structure.
She advised members to attend meetings promptly and regularly as well as work in unity and harmony to guarantee the labour strength of the country.
Mrs. Ockling made the appeal when she met members of the Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of the union in Sunyani on Thursday. Mrs. Ockling said the welfare of members and for that matter Ghanaian workers was the major priority of the union and appealed to members to close their rank and file and forge ahead in unity with sisters unions to achieve a common goal. Participants appealed to the union's hierarchy to make available some funds to serve as credit so that members could access and venture into other income generating activities. Mr. Charles Kwasi Kumi, Regional Industrial Relation Officer, said the union had acquired a vast track of land in Sunyani and Tema to build hostels.
