Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Chairman of the Afigya-Kwabre South constituency of the NPP, has called on assembly members and the political party leadership, to forge a united front to speed up the development of the area.
He urged them to work in close partnership with their chiefs, opinion leaders and other key stakeholders to initiate and implement practical measures that would help improve the living conditions of the people in the District.
Speaking at a ceremony to interact with assembly members of the Afigya-Kwabre South District Assembly and NPP polling station coordinators, at Kodie, Odeneho Appiah said unity was crucial to promote the speedy development of the District.
He said development was a shared responsibility and there was the need for assembly members, party coordinators, chiefs and other opinion leaders in the communities to work together to find solutions to the numerous challenges facing their people.
Odeneho Appiah spoke against the situation where some assembly members and local party leaders instigated the people to engage in acts of indiscipline and lawlessness, mostly in the form of unnecessary public demonstrations and the destruction of state property, in their communities.
He advised them to desist from such acts and use laid down procedures to resolve the grievances in their communities.
Odeneho Appiah pointed out that people were looking up to them to offer leadership that would help transform their lives for the better.
Mr Christian Adu Poku, District Chief Executive (DCE), said a number of road networks in the District, had been awarded on contract for rehabilitation.
He stressed the need for the assembly members and party coordinators to update the people the development projects going on in the District to enable the people appreciate the efforts of the government to improve on their living conditions.
