According to the NYEP workers, they have been deceived for far too long by the National Coordinator of the NYEP and that they could no longer bear it.

The workers also demanded to know their stand as it was alleged that they would be asked to vacate their post for another group to be employed.

The Municipal Coordinator of NYEP, Mr. Salifu Abudallah told the aggrieved youth that he had received information from the National Directorate that they had received money from the Ministry of Finance and would soon pay them their allowances. He explained that they were also developing an exit plan for the NYEP so that those who are presently working would be absorbed into some sectors and indicated that most those presently in the Community Police would be recruited into the Ghana Police Service. He said other area of the model would also be given the same opportunities like the Community Police model and appealed to them to exercise patience since they could be dismissed for speculating falsehood.

He explained that Parliament would also pass a bill on the NYEP soon to regularize its activities including regular payment of allowances for workers of the Scheme.
