The Upper West Regional Secretariat of the National Youth Authority (NYA) has hailed the nomination of Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, as Minister for Youth and Sports and has assured the Minister of their unflinching support in his new assignment.
In a statement issued by Mr. Sulemana Mumuni the Upper West Regional Director of NYA, he congratulated Afriyie-Ankrah for his elevation to the high office of Minister designate for Youth and Sports.
It noted that it was due to his hard work that earned him the nomination and hoped he would continue to exhibit this trait in his new role in government if his appointment was given approval by Parliament.
“The young people have a lot of confidence in you; since you have demonstrated in diverse ways that you are a result oriented and credible leader that can stand the test of time.”
It stated that it was the hope of the NYA to be well resourced to undertake its mandate as enshrined in the National
Redemption Council Degree (NRCD 241) since the Minister designate was a youth. “It is our belief that equally, the youth component of the Ministry, shall be given the needed attention, unlike those days when all attention was given to sports”.
